I wanted to venture into an untapped phenomenon..
This is probably going to be one of the best, or one of the most "controversial" posts on my site.
We all know that there are very strict standards when it comes to the proportions a high fashion model should be.
But this post isn't about high fashion models.
This article is venturing into the world of the sultry "Eye Candy Models"
An eye candy model is a model that usually works in lingerie/swimsuits. Their proportions are more volumptuous than a high fashion model, and in the world of eye candy modeling..sex appeal is KEY.
I chose to do this post because I wanted to break the stereotypes of these girls. Many people do not consider them fashion models because they are manly featured in magazines like: King, XXL, MAXIM etc...and they are usually scantily clad.
The truth of the matter is. The average women is not high fashion proportion. Real women want to purchase lingerie and swimwear, and real women want to see REAL proportions in these outfits, so they can have a better idea of how they would look in it.
I wanted to feature some images of these models. Their style of modeling that can be considered art. Designers need to be more open minded. It is okay to be sexy. The industry is gradually changing, and pretty soon not all top models will be petite. Eye Candy models are slowly entering the world of high fashion, and integrating more artistic qualities in their photography...Just check out these pics via Zigga Zagga Productions:

Hi ICEY!
You're so right! Eye Candy is definetly art that only an open-mind person can see. Now on the simple minded side, people have ruined it for the "real artists" by promoting scams, taking advantage of these women and exploting them. Some of these women walk in the door business minded/ head strong, where others are forced in by desperation from circumstances from the past and/or present. I never judge- to each is own! If everyone would have that positive attitude, it wouldn't be people pointing the finger to(in my opinion) cover up things that "society" consider so dirty or wrong! Do you, not others. By the way I've been fortunate enough to work with Zigga Zagga Productions with Celebrity Stylist, Taressia(Lemon Sliced Earrings,ect-myspace.com/earringkrave). Taressia is so talented! It's so much that goes into making an "Eye Candy Model" that's art in itself! You rock Icey!
YO GIRL!
GREAT POST MAN, I'M ONE OF THE FEW GIRLS WHEN I WAS YOUNGER WHO THOUGHT THAT STRIPPERS WERE GLAMOROUS AND TO THIS DAY LOG ON TO XXL'S WEBSITE MONTHLY TO CHECK THE BEAUTIFUL MODELS. WHAT U SAID IS TOTALLY ON POINT! THIS IS FASHION- FOR THE MASSES... I CAN RELATE TO THESE WOMEN, WHO IS BUDCHEN? WHO IS GISELLE? GIMME CHESSICKA, KI TOY AND BUFFY THE BODY ANY DAY....THAT'S WHO I MAKE CLOTHES FOR.
GOD BLESS
DANI
I just stumbled across your blog and i agree.
I feel like Eye Candy is taking a turn for the better. These girls have finally stepped outside of the box to not only be the girl we see in the video and call "video hoe" but now they are becoming household names.
I also agree that there proportions are more like the "average" women, thick and voluptuous. And these photographers are doing a great job in capturing their beauty in an artistic way.
But i do see the with the whole they're not high fashion models, because in the end they're not. I actually found some interesting facts about what high fashion models are supposed to be...
In general, mainstream female high fashion models are tall (5'9" to 5'11") and thin (108 to 130lbs in proportional to height). The desired figure around 34B-24-34. This can range some but waist no larger the 25" and maximum hips 35 ½.
With standards like this, i feel like the typical "real woman" will never be portrayed as high fashion anytime soon.
But your post was very hopeful..maybe some day people can see the light... keep it up
Great blog, Icy. We at Fashion Frenzy is diggin' it.
SO TRUE! I love this post! Now a days guys, females, people in general are so quick to judge "eye candy models". LOVE THE ONE IN THE GOLD! and the model with the polka dot shirt, her hair is likes that!
